This Saturday, September 21, from 9 AM to 2 PM, safely recycle your electronic items by dropping them off at the Public Works Department, located at 3715 Wells Ave, Mount Rainier.

This service is exclusive to Mount Rainier residents.

RFP: 34TH STREET FACADE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - PHASE 2

34th Street Facade Improvement Project Phase 2 Graphics

The City of Mount Rainier seeks proposals from qualified contractors for Phase 2 of the Department of Economic Development’s 34th Street Façade Improvement Project. This project focuses on exterior renovations for storefronts along 3800 – 3856 34th Street to enhance these buildings' aesthetic appeal and structural integrity, creating a more vibrant downtown area and increasing economic activity. 

Proposals are due by Friday, October 11, 2024.

NEWTON STREET PROJECT

The Newton Street Project is scheduled to begin construction in October. It aims to transform Newton Street into a green street that harmonizes innovative environmental design with the needs of our community. To discuss this exciting initiative, a Community Conversation will be held next Saturday, September 28, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the intersection of Newton St. and Newton Pl.

31ST STREET AND PERRY STREET PROJECT

Join the City of Mount Rainier and the Low Impact Development Center (LIDC) for a Community Conversation on-site to discuss the 31st and Perry Streets Improvement Project. This follow-up meeting scheduled for Saturday, October 5, from 10 am to 12 pm, is a great chance for residents to share their feedback and ideas on the project’s design.

Public Safety Night

Join the Mount Rainier Police Department for the annual Public Safety Night on Friday, September 27,  from 5 pm to 9 p.m. at the Mount Rainier Nature Center located at 4701 31st Place, Mount Rainier, MD. Enjoy an evening of fun, education, and community building with hands-on activities like exploring public safety vehicles up close, helicopter displays, fire truck displays, k-9 demonstrations and more!

The City of Mount Rainier and Joe's Movement Emporium proudly kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month on Saturday, September 14, with a vibrant celebration honoring the rich culture, history, and contributions of the Hispanic community. From live performances, traditional dance to family family-friendly activities, the event brought together our community to celebrate unity and diversity. Thank you to everyone who joined us in this meaningful celebration.
