In a remarkable collaboration, the City of Mount Rainier and the Washington DC Department of Transportation and Public Works address concerns along Eastern Avenue shared by residents, drivers, and pedestrians ensuring safer roads for everyone.
Clear Road Signs
The upside-down one-way signage was taken down at Eastern Avenue and Perry St., reducing confusion among drivers. Also, the speed limit sign, mounted below the standard height, has been adjusted to ensure drivers know the 25-speed limit and exercise caution while driving.
The missing sign near the south of Eastern Avenue and Bunker Hill was replaced.
The speed limit sign previously obscured behind a pole at 31st and Eastern Avenue was repositioned making it more visible to drivers.
Other improvements include trash removal along Eastern Avenue
None of these improvements would have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our Mayor and Council and the Washington DC government. Thank you to the staff of the DC Government for their prompt response making Eastern Avenue safer for drivers and pedestrians.
