Mount Rainier Day 2023 is the City’s biggest community event to celebrate the City’s Anniversary offering a full day of fun and entertainment for everyone! This year, we are celebrating our 113th birthday on May 20, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Historic Circle, 1 Municipal Pl, Mount Rainier.

One of the main highlights of Mount Rainier Day 2023 is the parade, which will feature Eastern Highschool Marching Band, Largo Marching Band, Los Tecuanes de Riverdale, and other community groups. Following the parade, visitors can enjoy a street festival with live music performances featuring our local musicians from the Community Jamboree and kid and youth-friendly activities including Arts and Crafts provided by the Thomas Stone Elementary School PTO, Rock-Climbing Wall and a Skate Mobile.

In addition, more than 60 vendors will be present at the event, showcasing their artworks, products, and services.  A wide array of food trucks and food vendors will also be participating this year.

Health screenings will also be available on Mount Rainier Day 2023, including HIV screenings. These free screenings are important resources that help to promote health and well-being in the community.

ROAD CLOSURES AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS DURING MOUNT RAINIER DAY

  • Rhode Island Avenue between Perry Street and 37th Street will be closed from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Roads will also be closed to traffic during the Mount Rainier Day Fun Run starting at 7:30 am. Parking restrictions will also be enforced along the parade route and fun run routes. Please see the map for details.

We strongly encourage residents and visitors to take the shuttle which will run from 11 am to 5 pm and will have stops on major apartment communities; walking to the festival is also a great and healthy option!
