Mount Rainier Police Department officers will become Santa for a day to treat 10 kids on a shopping spree! MRPD is also accepting visa card donations to allow more kids to shop with our Santa Cops. Kids were randomly selected in partnership with our local schools.
Breakfast with Santa
Saturday, December 10 – 10 am to 12 noon
Mount Rainier Nature Center
Santa is making his way to Mount Rainier from the North Pole to bring holiday cheers to Mount Rainier families through the City of Mount Rainier's Annual Breakfast and Photo with Santa. Enjoy a magical morning of free photos with Santa, gift-giving, arts and crafts, and a light breakfast to go for kids and youth. Registration required.
Holiday Family Outreach Program
Saturday, December 10
Mount Rainier Nature Center
Recipients of the Holiday Family Outreach Program will receive their gifts from the generous donations of their “adoptive” families. This program is spearheaded by the Mount Rainier Recreation Committee in partnership with the City’s local schools.

Holiday Basket Distribution
Friday, December 16 – 12 noon to 6 pm
Mount Rainier Police Department
Mayor and Council ensure community members in need will have meals to share at the dinner table during this season through the Holiday Basket Distribution Program! Each basket contains turkey or ham, pie, frozen vegetables, and other non-perishable items. Citizens can also bring non-perishable food donations to City Hall to help more families in need in the City. Mount Rainier residents must pre-register to receive a basket.
Parade of Lights
Saturday, December 17 – 6 pm onwards
The Parade of Lights is a community-supported event where community members are encouraged to light up their homes, businesses, or yards to brighten the sky. Cider and hot chocolate stations placed around the City will also be available while community members adore the City’s gleaming lights!
