City of Mount Rainier – The City of Mount Rainier is helping its community members in need to celebrate Thanksgiving and the holiday season by providing meals to share at the dinner table.  Through its Food Distribution Program, the City will be distributing turkey, ham, canned vegetables and other dinner staples to its underserved community members.

“The pandemic may be over but the ripple effect of COVID-19 on the economy is still persistent. The City of Mount Rainier wanted to ensure that our community members who are still experiencing financial burdens can share a wonderful meal with their loved ones during the Thanksgiving and the holiday season,” Mayor Celina Benitez said.

Mayor and Council have allocated funding to the distribution program from the American Rescue Plan Act.

More than 1500 food boxes are expected to be distributed on November 18 and December 16.
