Mount Rainier residents and community members are encouraged to take the Comprehensive Street and Sidewalk Input to share their priorities to make our streets safer, more walkable, and bikeable!
The deadline to take the survey is October 7.
Toole Design Group was hired by the city to conduct a comprehensive street and sidewalk study that will make Mount Rainier’s streets and sidewalks safer and more comfortable for walking and biking, reduce motor vehicle accidents and cut-through traffic and utilize the results of the study for federal funding opportunities.
The study which started in July 2022 is expected to be completed in March 2023. It will result in an existing conditions memorandum, a prioritized list of street and sidewalk projects, a design toolbox, and concept plans for the highest priority locations. The group will present the project list and prioritization methodology and recommendations to the city administration and to the Mayor and Council early next year. By February, Toole Design Group will present its final recommendations to Mayor and Council.
