Meet the Candidates: Mount Rainier City Election 2025

Join the Mount Rainier Board of Elections for the Candidate Meet and Greet on Saturday, April 12, from 12 pm to 2 pm at the MRPD Community Room located at 3249 Rhode Island Ave, Mount Rainier, MD. 

This is a chance for voters to engage with the candidates vying for a seat in the City Council, hear their vision for the city, and make an informed decision before casting their vote.

The certified candidates are:

• For Mayor: Danielle Carter, Celina Benitez and Dara Wallace

• For Ward 1 Council Member: Charnette Robinson and Jenny Hoffpauir

• For Ward 2 Council Member: Derek Reynolds, Joseph Jakuta, and Toni George

City Election Important Dates

Monday, April 7, 2025  - Voter Registration Deadline for the City Election

Saturday, April 12, 2025 - Candidate Meet and Greet

Monday, April 28, 2025 - Last Day to Submit Absentee Voting Application Form
Any registered voter qualified to vote in the City Elections may vote by Absentee Ballot. The request for an absentee ballot shall be made to the Board of Elections in writing.

Monday, May 5, 2025 - Election Day
