VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE

Voter Registration Drive

The 2025 City Election is set for May 5, 2025, offering all eligible Mount Rainier residents the opportunity to shape the future of our city.

Who Can Register:

Any resident of the City of Mount Rainier who is not eligible to vote in State and County elections but meets the voter qualifications set forth in Section 502 of the City Charter and applicable Charter Amendments may register with the Mount Rainier Board of Elections to vote in City elections. This includes:

  • U.S. citizens
  • Legal permanent residents ("Green Card Holders") including holders of temporary visas (including, but not limited to: work visas, student visas, refugees, those with Temporary Protected Status), and those who do not have formal U.S. immigration status.
  • Residents aged 16 and older

The Mount Rainier Board of Elections will hold Voter Registration Drives to assist residents with the registration process and to answer any questions about the electoral process.

Dates:

  • Saturday, February 22 - from 9 am to 12 noon at Mixt Food Hall
  • Thursday, February 27 - 6 pm to 7 pm at Thomas Stone Elementary School

3510 Rhode Island Ave Mural Project Call for Artists

The Mount Rainier Arts Commission is seeking applications for its newest mural project on 3510 Rhode Island Avenue in the City of Mount Rainier, MD.  The artist(s) selected for this project will be awarded $17,500 to complete the project.

LICENSE AND PERMIT RENEWAL

License and Permit Renewal

Reminder! Business Licenses, Residential Parking, and Charitable and Religious Parking Permits expire yearly on February 28. Renew your before the deadline to avoid fines. With the new website, renewal can be conveniently completed online at www.mountrainiermd.org/permitting

 

CURBSIDE LEAF COLLECTION UPDATE

Curbside Leaf Collection

The Department of Public Works will resume curbside leaf collection on February 25, prioritizing areas with the highest accumulation to ensure efficient and timely service.

Residents are requested to place leaves along the curb to facilitate collection.
