NEW TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN SIGNALS ACTIVATED ON EASTERN AVENUE AND RHODE ISLAND AVENUE

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has activated new turn lane traffic signals and pedestrian signals at the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue and Eastern Avenue. This activation follows the implementation of a new traffic pattern in April, designed to improve safety and traffic flow at the intersection. The revised traffic pattern on Eastern Avenue dedicates the left lanes to left-turning vehicles and the right lanes to right-turning vehicles for both northbound and southbound directions.
