In the early hours of July 15th, at approximately 12:40 AM, Mount Rainier Police officers responded to the 3700 block of 33rd Street, where they found an unresponsive male suffering from a stab wound to the chest. Unfortunately, the victim did not survive. The incident began as a domestic dispute between two individuals. The suspect remained at the scene and has been arrested and charged. The Prince George’s County Police Homicide Division has taken over the investigation which remains ongoing.
This incident is the first homicide that occurred in the City in over five years. Authorities confirmed that it was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.
