The Mount Rainier Arts Commission (MRAC) is seeking artists who are residents of or maintain studio space in Mount Rainier, MD to feature in its 2022 public art project in Mount Rainier. In partnership with the City of Mount Rainier, MRAC will utilize city-owned decorative lamp posts to highlight the city’s creative talent. Part of the Gateway Arts District, Mount Rainier is home to over 150 art studios that contribute to the enrichment of the community.
MRAC is seeking either existing or newly created artwork to publicly display on banners that will hang on lamp posts throughout the City for two years. Each artist will receive an honorarium of $600. The two-year period will begin during the installation of banners by the City. Each artist will be limited to one (1) piece of artwork.
