The Mount Rainier Business Association successfully hosted the Candidate Forum on April 13, 2022. The event featured Valerie Woodall and Toni George, candidates for the ward 2 council member seat.  

The virtual event, which was also live-streamed on the City’s official Facebook page, was attended by community members, MRBA members, Mount Rainier Board of Elections, City staff and elected officials. The hour-long forum put a spotlight on the two candidates as they introduced themselves, their platforms, and positions on questions from the community.

Special Election Edition of The Message. 

The Special Election will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 7 a.m. to 8 pm. Only registered voters of ward 2 can vote in the Special Election. The polls is located in Mount Rainier Recreation Center, 4701 31st Pl, Mt Rainier, MD 20712.

Any qualified voter registered to vote either in the State of Maryland or with the City of Mount Rainier, MD, may also vote by Absentee Ballot. A qualified voter desiring to vote during the City elections as an Absentee Voter shall submit an application to the Mount Rainier Board of Elections (MRBOE) in writing. The application must be received no later than the Monday before the election, Monday, April 18, 2022.
