MRPD to Host Public Safety Night 2023– A Celebration of Community Safety and Unity

Mount Rainier, MD – The Mount Rainier Police Department (MRPD) is proud to host the annual Public Safety Night, a highly anticipated community event that brings the community together to promote safety and strengthen community-police relationships. The all-age-friendly event is scheduled for Friday, September 22, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Mount Rainier Nature Center located at 4701 31st Place, Mount Rainier, MD 20712. 

“Public Safety Night is more than just an event; it's an opportunity for us, as law enforcement and public safety professionals, to connect with the people we serve on a personal level. It's a chance for our residents to get to know the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to keep them safe day in and day out,” Stated MRPD Chief of Police Linwood Alston.  

Public Safety Night promises an evening filled with education, games, giveaways, and entertainment for all community members. The event’s highlights include:   

Meet our Community Heroes. Get to know our first responders and the men and women in law enforcement. 

Aviation Helicopter Displays: Landing at the Mount Rainier Nature Center, aviation helicopters that play a crucial role in emergency response.  

Fire Truck Displays: Explore impressive fire trucks and meet our dedicated firefighters. 

Mobile Command Buses: Step inside mobile command buses and discover the emergency response command centers. 

CSI Demos: Experience captivating crime scene investigation demonstrations showcasing the science behind solving crimes. 

K-9 Demonstrations: Witness the remarkable skills of police K-9 units as they showcase their expertise in action.  

In addition to the captivating displays and demonstrations, attendees can look forward to enjoying complimentary food, live music, and a wide range of family-friendly activities. This event is a testament to the department's commitment to fostering positive relationships with the community and ensuring that Mount Rainier remains a safe and welcoming place for all.
