City of Mount Rainier and Town of Brentwood to Improve Pedestrian Safety around Thomas Stone Element

The City of Mount Rainier and the Town of Brentwood are working together to improve pedestrian safety around Thomas Stone Elementary School.

The two local governments expressed their commitment to making improvements on 34th Street where the school is located to ensure the safety of elementary students and the entire school community. Part of the improvements is adding ADA ramps and crosswalks, pavement, and curb markings.

The Prince George’s County public school is providing elementary education to both residents of Mount Rainier and Brentwood.  Mount Rainier and Brentwood share jurisdiction of 34th Street.
