The City of Mount Rainier's Department of Economic Development has been awarded a grant of $75,000 in the Fiscal Year 2024 State Revitalization Program. This funding, part of the $63.7 million allocated to seven programs by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, will be directed toward its 34th Street Façade Improvements Program.
The project is to revitalize the City’s downtown core. Early 2023, the city completed its façade improvements project on Rhode Island Avenue.
With this new funding, the city is set to transform 34th Street into a more vibrant and welcoming business district for residents and visitors alike and support local businesses.
The City of Mount Rainier has been proactive in its pursuit of community improvement, and this grant will continue these efforts.
